VETERANS HANDICAP and HARDBAT TOURNAMENTS
The Veterans Handicap and Hardbat tournaments are held prior to the start of the season, usually the first Wednesday of September. It is held at the Merley Community Centre. The Veterans Handicap Tournament is only open to players aged 40 or over. Only players who will be registered with the Wimborne and District Table Tennis League for the forthcoming season are eligible to play. Any player wishing to participate in the tournaments must arrive by 7.30pm unless prior notice has been given to the tournament secretary that he/she will be arriving late. The format of the Veterans Handicap tournament is either round-robin groups or a knockout, depending upon the number of players, playing best-of-three up to 21 points with 5 serves each. The Hardbat Tournament is held immediately after the Veterans Handicap tournament and is also round-robin groups or knockout but only playing best-of-one up to 21 points with 5 serves each.
Both finals are then played.
